Maternity benefit calculator
Compute paid maternity leave and cash benefit under the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 (as amended by the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017) read with Chapter VI of the Code on Social Security, 2020.
Average gross monthly wage in the three calendar months before the date of notice.
Minimum 80 days required in the 12 months preceding expected delivery (Section 5(2)).
If yes, Section 8 medical bonus does not apply.
An establishment with 50 or more employees must provide a creche facility within the prescribed distance (Section 11A).
Work-from-home may be permitted after the leave period on terms mutually agreed (Section 5(5)).
Dismissal during pregnancy / maternity leave is prohibited (Section 12). Discharge during this period entitles the woman to maternity benefit and medical bonus.
Nursing breaks under Section 11 are payable till the child attains 15 months.
